Projects

IDC is engaged in microenterprise development. We have always been a trainer, advocate and community builder but are now also moving into the arena of resource (lending) and market channel development (retail incubator).

First and foremost a business trainer, IDC works with dozens of immigrant-owned businesses and hopefuls each year to help provide the tools needed to business success.

IDC is opening a retail incubator to help introduce the FM community to goods and services produced by immigrant entrepreneurs while at the same time creating new markets for the businesses that have worked with IDC.

Building on the agrarian culture from which so many immigrants come, IDC worked with local partners to develop a community gardening project focusing on production of fruits & vegetables.

Coming in 2010… flexible, affordable micro loans for start-ups who have been working with IDC. Funded in part with a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation.
